I  am a clinical psychologist, originally from England and qualified and trained in France. I qualified in 2010 from Bordeaux University Victor Segalen 2 with a specialisation in psychopathology. I essentially work with teenagers, adults and the elderly, in both the languages of French and English. My professionnel experience has allowed me to specialize in psychological support to victims and perpetrators.

I consult via individual psychotherapy sessions and group therapy. I inspire my work and interventions from psychoanalysis. My role involves assessment and treatment for a range of mental health problems by focusing on a person's singularity and globality according to the principles of ethics. The notion of respect and confidence are essential within my practice .

  • The initial session

An intial psychology appointment is an opportunity to talk through an overview of your difficulties and what you would like to achieve, with a view to deciding whether Clinical Psychology will best meet your needs. If Clinical Psychology is an appropriate avenue for you, you can contract for a number of sessions for further assessment of your difficulties and to undertake some therapy.

- Therapies offered :

* Psychoanalytic psychotherapy

This type of therapy favours an in depth work on one's self, in order to get to know one's self better and to understand one's way of functioning. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy adresses people suffering from :

- professional, family, school, relationship - difficulties,

- anxiety, depression, stress,

- addictions,

- personality disorders,

- behavioral disorders,...

* Supportive psychotherapy, involves meeting with the therapist on a regular basis, allowing the therapist to give moral support hence permitting the patient to perceive his symptoms. The objective of the therapist is to reinforce the patient's healthy and adaptive patterns of thought behaviours in order to reduce the intrapsychic conflicts that produce symptoms of mental disorders.

* Psychological assessments can be practiced following a patient's request, but also following a psychologist's or a third party (doctors, medical institution, school etc) recommendation. A psychological test is an objective and standardised measure of an individual's mental and/or behavioural characteristics. The aims are to identify the psychological processes important in the development and maintenance of one's problems and what would be the best ways to overcomeone's difficulties. The assessment and formulation phases may thus lead directly to a treatment plan.

* Group therapy is aimed at people suffering from:

 - mourning, stress, phobias

- addictions....

But also:

- the elderly, offering support and breaking with social isolation...

- caregivers : parents : children confronted with illness, handicap of someone close...

*Possibility of travelling to an institution or home-consulting

*Consultations in English and French.
